Horsforth Town Councillor and Clinical HypnotherapistI was born and raised in Yorkshire, I was brought up by a widowed mum, who faced her own mental health challenges. I put myself through University (not the most academic – but very practical) taught in Education for nearly 30 years (I was Teacher Rep throughout this time, for our PTA, and helped with our School Council/Children’s Parliament).I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist - delivering mindfulness sessions – relaxing hypnotherapy and counselling, I am a Local Councillor (formerly the Chairman – overseeing 22 Councillors and paid staff) I help organise our local Gala (over the last 30+ years, I am on the Management/Steering Group for Dementia Friendly Horsforth, I am a member of YABA, I helped set-up and run Horsforth Repair Café (for over a year – soon to become a CIC) and Library of Things. I am Yorkshire Regional Chairman - Conservative Women’s Organisation (CWO) – supporting women into public roles, and Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Deputy Political. I am a proactive NED for AI-Tech UK and will be helping to launch a new and exciting initiative in November of this year.I am also the proud mum to my daughter, Isabel (24yrs old) who I raised as a single mum, and I am a supportive Step-Mum to Ken (32yrs old) who lived with us growing-up – my diamonds!
