Vicky Reynolds JP DL

Deputy Lieutenant, West Yorkshire Lieutenancy

Vicky was born in Ilkley and educated in Bradford and Scotland (where she lived from age 5 to 7). She really enjoyed her schooldays and played a full part in all aspects of school life, including sports teams and choirs and was a Prefect and House Captain.

During a 40-year career in the Civil Service as a senior manager (before taking early retirement in 2012), she acquired and developed many useful skills, including inter-personal, people management (including distance-management), time-management, logistical and organizational expertise, team-working, leadership.

Vicky has been a Magistrate for 33 years and as well as fulfilling her obligations as a sitting Justice, she has served on many committees and panels in the court service during that time:
Family & Youth
Chairman, Betting & Gaming Committee
Chairman, Licensing Committee
Crown Court
Drugs Panel
Out of Hours Panels (for urgent Search Warrants)
Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Committee
Magistrates in the Community

She was Deputy Chairman of the Bradford and Keighley Bench from 2011 to 2015 and then Chairman from 2015 to 2017.

She was also a member of the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) for Leeds Prison. IMB ensures that the treatment of those detained in custody is fair, just and humane by observing the compliance with relevant rules and standards of decency.

Vicky was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire in 2018 and represents HM the Queen at various events in the county, including civic functions and Citizenship ceremonies.
