Paul Mennell – Ex-Professional Rugby League Player and Coach
Ex-Professional Rugby League Player and Coach / Current Headteacher
I am a former professional rugby league player who has played for Huddersfield Giants, Bradford Bulls, Batley Bulldogs and Halifax Panthers. During my first year in the Championship, I was one of three players nominated for the Young Player of the Year in the division. After playing, I retired for three years before becoming involved in coaching for Bradford Bulls and Dewsbury Rams.
I attended Huddersfield University where I gained a BSc Hons Degree in Health and Sports Science, before moving to play rugby in Australia for two years. Upon my return, I undertook my teaching qualifications and after 8 years in the profession, find myself as a current Headteacher in a Bradford school.
I have coached and taught a variety of different age groups from 5 years up to adulthood.
Nutrition, strength and conditioning and positive mental health is something I am extremely interested in and have presented to many groups up and down the country.
I also have a love for music, in which I like to practise in my spare time.
