Jahmaine Reid – Music Producer / Composer, Musician & DJ

Award winning music producer/ composer, Musician, DJ

Jahmaine (AKA J-Dan) is an award winning music producer/composer, musician, grade 8 pianist and sought after DJ, from right here in West Yorkshire, Bradford.

At 2 years old Jahmaine was diagnosed with autism; which at the time, in the early 90’s was yet to
emerge as a widely recognised and better understood condition that it is today. Back then, a
specialist told his parents that he’d never be able to talk, express emotions and empathy, that he
would require specialist care all his life.

His love for music began when he was just a child: at age 7 he naturally was drawn to the family
keyboard in which his elder sister played and taught him some songs, by 9 he started making
Jungle and Grime beats with his brother who showed him how to use Reason 2.0 as his first music
software he started using.

At 11 he started doing lessons and flying through grades as tutors saw the potential of abilities
even then. In his early teens, he preferred spending the majority of his weekends and summers in
his room with his keyboard, making beats, and even performed in concerts and gigs in places like
Saltaire, Leeds and many more.

After achieving amazing 13 amazing GCSE results, by the time Jahmaine reached his A Levels, he began to experience some major setbacks. He got expelled from 6th Form and then continued pursuing his ambition to become a professional musician by completing his Grade 8 in piano, studied a Music BTEC course, then smashing his degree in Music at Leeds College of Music. All whilst sharing his passion for production on Sound cloud. Here he accumulated over 1 Million+ streams collectively and started to build a fan base. These very same beats would be used by YouTube channels such as Seen Through Glass and Schmee150.

Jahmaine then formed a production partnership alongside best friend 1stBorn music, also established producer, songwriter and engineer making hundreds of beats through passion and love of the music, brought him along to do sessions in London, slept in studio floors, or in his car they had to wait for opportunities to come and take advantage of!

Late, a top UK artist, Nines, Released his Album, Crabs in A Bucket. It went Silver – with Clout being a single on the album produced by Jahmaine and 1stBorn. This album made it NO 1 in UK
Official Album Charts, MOBO Awards “BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR”, NINES – CRABS IN BUCKET, MOBO NOMINATED NINES – CLOUT, “BEST VIDEO OF THE YEAR”, TOP 50 IN UK CHARTS SINGLE CHARTS as well as went number 1 trending on YouTube.
