Dave was born in Ayrshire and, after studying Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow University, spent 4 years in the oil and gas industry before joining Ciba-Geigy in 1986. He worked in various engineering and manufacturing roles at the Paisley site and extensively in China and Korea.

Following the acquisition of Ciba Specialty Chemicals by BASF in 2009 Dave led Engineering, Operational and Change Management projects in Bradford (UK) and Nanjing (China) before being appointed as Bradford & Grimsby Site Manager in May 2016.

He has continued in this role through the merger of BASF’s Water & Paper Business with Solenis in February 2019.
Dave is a keen runner and enjoys nothing more than running over the Yorkshire Dales, regardless of the weather. At work, Dave’s interests include leading through change, leadership development, creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce and ensuring a sustainable manufacturing base in Bradford.
