David Harmer was at the intersection of global sales, content, marketing, technology & media for thirty years, having been VP Sales of International Data Group (IDG), the world’s largest technology media company, numerous well-funded start-up operations & also as COO at a leading global advertising agency specialising in digital advertising strategies for technology companies. Mr. Harmer had annual budgetary management experience in excess of US$60 million.
Starting his career creating & publishing demonstrable market leading technology magazines in print Mr. Harmer was at the vanguard of that industries transition to web based platforms & subsequently their migration to mobile web where his consultancy business provided specialist insight into mobile marketing opportunities for technology based clients as they started their transition to mobile media. A proven team creator, leader & motivator who works well in cross functional & cultural operations and comfortable in executive audiences and complex customers facing global scale contract negotiations.
With a strong track record of taking subordinates to the next level & an effective communicator who is happy to roll up his sleeves and lead by example. Mr. Harmer has demonstrated himself as a senior executive in all aspects of content management & has multiple hands on start-up & turnaround successes in his resume which have demonstrated his strengths in operations management & strategic planning. Additionally, Mr. Harmer has extensive International experience in EMEA (London, Paris, Amsterdam), US (Boston, San Francisco, Miami) & APAC (Singapore, Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney). Harmer graduated from the University of Hertfordshire School of Information Sciences in the UK.
Harmer in his retirement splits his time between his homes in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico & Bradford in the UK & is a keen sports fan having played at the first team level of college Rugby, Football & Volleyball. These days , from his armchair, he follows both Leeds United FC & Bradford City AFC, Saracens RFC, The New England Patriots, The San Francisco Giants & The Yorkshire Cricket team.
