Warrant Officer (RAFAC) Daniel Rouse – Officer Commanding 44F (City of Bradford) Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
Officer Commanding 44F (City of Bradford) Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
Born and raised in the Bradford area, school was a bit of a non-starter for me. Luckily by joining the Air Cadets at the age of 13 I was able to top up my school qualifications with BTEC’s. Unsure of what to do when I was leaving school,
I became a Special Constable with West Yorkshire Police, eventually gaining the rank of Section Officer. I was proud to serve my community and lead others in the same. After 11 years’ service, I decided to step away to concentrate on serving the community in other ways.
After many years of jumping from job to job including retail, hospitality and event management, I was able to complete a basic course in teaching. After enjoying the training and delivery, I sought to complete further education in this sector. After a few years of hard work and determination, I was pleased to be awarded my Certificate in Education with Mathematics.
I now work as a First Aid and Health & Safety Trainer for West Yorkshire Police and love teaching the lifesaving skills that are effective on the streets of West Yorkshire.
I am also currently the Officer Commanding of the Bradford Air Cadets, where I lead a team to ensure the cadets all have opportunity and progression to be the best version of themselves that they can be. This is a humbling and privileged role I take very seriously.
