Amerjeat Sarai – Education Partnerships Lead Officer
Amer has worked for Bradford Council since 1991 in roles that partner all members of the Community. Her current remit involves developing key partnerships between Education and the community; businesses, individuals, parents, Community and voluntary organisations and the public sector, to harness a range of support for schools. She believes that positive change can happen through collaboration and that collectively Bradford can make a significant difference to children and young people through a quality education.
Born and educated in Bradford, Amer’s first career was in the arts following completion of an arts degree at Bradford College, working on arts projects through ‘social practice’, with all sections of the community; locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Following the birth of her two amazing children, she changed career, moving across to the Education sector where she has worked on enterprise in education, careers education, work related learning and the wider remit of Education Partnerships, all of which encapsulate her passion to make positive changes through building strong links and activity with all sections of the community.
