Adele Hartley-Spencer – Director of Nursing (Operations)

Director of Nursing (Operations)

I am a registered nurse qualified for 38 years, have worked in lots of different roles, specialties and organisations across both primary and secondary care services. I am passionate about my role as a nurse, influencing the care and treatment we provide to patients and supporting the development of future leaders through coaching and mentoring.

I am a qualified coach and have also completed a diploma, degree and master’s degree. I always aspired to be a nurse and started my nursing career at 18 following the apprentice style of training, so really supportive of apprenticeships and the opportunities that this style of training can provide to people that don’t want to pursue an academic path.

I am motivated to share my experiences and to encourage young people to consider a career in health care and support them to consider the many different career options available.

Sectors worked in and routes taken:

Secondary Care

Various hospitals across the north and south of England. This has included working in clinical roles, General Management, Project Management and Senior Nursing roles.

Primary Care

Various services including provider and commissioner roles. This included the management of multi-disciplinary teams; social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians and nurses.
