Lieutenant Colonel Andy Black – Army’s Head of Engagement for North East and Yorkshire
HQ 4th Infantry BrigadeAndy was raised in the North East, a keen sportsman, secured an engineering apprenticeship on leaving school with a large employer. Sponsored to attend University, returning to the same employer to become a designer, design team leader and factory manager. Whilst studying a degree, he joined the Army as a Reservist, attending Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1993. Andy is married with two children, and has retained to teach Design Technology in Secondary School, leading several whole schools and year group projects, all whilst concurrently serving in the British Army. The Army has provided the opportunity to lead teams across the UK on a range of projects. Now leading the Army’s engagement in schools, in the community and with business.
