Ambereen Hussain – Founder of ZA Community Officials Ltd

Ambereen is an accomplished educator, community leader, and advocate for social justice whose twenty-year career across further and higher education reflects her unwavering commitment to empowering others and creating meaningful change.
With a foundation in Law and a PGCE, she has spent two decades shaping the academic and personal development of learners from all backgrounds. Her teaching career began with A Level Law and ESOL for adult learners, an experience that inspired her to obtain a Level 5 Subject Specialism in ESOL, English, and Maths. As she progressed into senior academic roles, including Senior Lecturer in Law and Business, she taught extensively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels while contributing to curriculum development, assessment improvement, and the strategic enhancement of teaching and learning frameworks.
Ambereen has played a valuable role in shaping institutional policy and leading strategic developments during periods of educational change. Her expertise spans curriculum innovation, assessment quality, staff professional development, and the creation of inclusive learning environments. As a qualified Assessor and Lead Internal Quality Assurer, she has overseen the development of schemes of work, monitored assessment standards, verified decisions, and strengthened quality assurance processes for several organisations. In her capacity as a Standard Verifier for awarding bodies, she ensures that assessment outcomes and internal verification processes consistently meet national expectations through rigorous sampling and evaluation.
Beyond her academic achievements, Ambereen is a powerful advocate for women’s rights, equality, and community resilience. She has devoted much of her work to encouraging women’s leadership, particularly among women from diverse cultural backgrounds, and actively campaigns against domestic violence, youth violence, and knife crime. Her involvement in mediation and conflict resolution supports individuals and families facing crises, while her work with those at risk of reoffending helps create safer, more connected communities.
Her dedication to tackling homelessness, reducing health inequalities, and removing barriers for marginalised groups reflects her deep commitment to justice and fairness. She approaches each challenge with compassion, determination, and a belief that every person deserves dignity, opportunity, and a voice.
As the Founder of ZA Community Officials Ltd, Ambereen leads an organisation focused on uplifting vulnerable individuals, supporting unemployed adults, and providing essential skills, community outreach, and pathways to education and employment. Under her leadership, ZA Community supports the homeless, elderly, and vulnerable with practical assistance and vital resources, while empowering residents to build confidence, resilience, and long-term independence.
Her leadership journey includes participation in the VRU Community Leader Programme, Community Leaders West Yorkshire, and the Lead the Change Programme with Yorkshire Sport Foundation. These roles have strengthened her ability to drive community-centred initiatives, influence policy, and create collaborative approaches that foster safety, well-being, and positive social transformation.
Ambereen’s career is driven by passion, shaped by resilience, and defined by her commitment to fighting injustice. She continues to inspire through her teaching, her advocacy, and her community leadership—demonstrating every day that meaningful change begins with courage, compassion, and the belief that every challenge can lead to growth.
